     Chlorophyll Shares The  Stage!

3H students have been observing the fall phenological changes.  One change has been in the colors of the leaves.  Students created concept maps about their leaf pigment investigation.  They learned some new vocabulary including:
chlorophyll, carotenoids, anthocyanins, dormant, plant cells, deciduous, and coniferous
We also gathered information about what phenological changes occur that prompt the color change in leaves. Students then set up their leaf experiments and created hypotheses.  We can't wait to see what pigments were hiding in our leaves!
